If you use Firefox, you will already by familiar with the Search function in the toolbar. This code below enables you to search the WP Codex.
It will not return any forum results, nor any from the other wiki, mailing lists, trac or tags. Just Codex results.
This shows where a Windows / Mac user would put the code. I have no clue where a Linux user would do this.
Open this link in another tab: http://www.tamba2.org.uk/files/codexWP.txt
Right-click, 'Select All', 'Copy' then paste into Notepad.
Save it as codexWP.src
Open this link in another tab: http://www.tamba2.org.uk/files/codexWP.gif
Save that image as codexWP.gif
Windows
As long you installed Firefox into the default location, this is the path you need to open up:
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins
Into that directory, place both the .src and .gif files
Mac
The installation directory is
/Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/searchplugins
Thanks Ian !
Linux
The installation directory is
/home/user_name/Main/Programs/firefox/searchplugins
Thanks to Roy !
You might need to restart Firefox for it to work properly.
