Alex King wrote a useful plugin for blogs that shows your regular visitors how many new posts / comments there have been since their last visit. Cunningly called WP Since last visit, it can prove a bit troublesome to install for some people.
To help, you can see my files (when I used the plugin. I may now in fact.. depends when you read this).
The following 3 links - right-click and open in a new window - WILL almost certainly break your blog if you just go pasting my code into your blog. Please do NOT do that !!!
Use the text files to see where I have used the code, and then use them as a guide for your own theme. In the text files, I have used the characters ***** to highlight where the plugin code is - don't paste that either :)
