I pierced my left nipple myself

I have been in a padded cell

I want to live somewhere really cold

I have a very short temper and am really easily bored

I wish I could go back to a certain moment and say what I should have done

I suppose that last one is a regret but at least 1 person might know what and where.

Tagging: Gordon – wank – David – Shep – whoo
(And yes I know at least 1 person in there will hate me for the tag :) )

I was tagged by Miklb so here’s the 4 ..

Four jobs I’ve had:
Newspaper boy
milk delivery
Barman
Nurse

Four things I want to do before I die:
See my girls grow up
Visit Japan
Be able to worry a lot less and be happier some more
Get a life

Four things I say a lot:
“Yes” (I live with 3 women remember!).
“I’ll do it later”
“Boom boom boom”
“Okay, I’ll fix it….”

Four of my favorite foods:
Right now ?
Creme Eggs.
That’s about it. I’m in the middle of a long sugar kick.
(Jaffa cakes have dropped off the gastronomic radar)

Four people I’d like to curse:
Curse as in put the hex on so that they suffer for every single day for the rest of their wretched lives ? Ooohh… fun :)
Jason Clarke
Paul Jones
My (alleged) m*ther
Anyone who harms children (A broad brush I know, but a worthy one)

Four things I don’t trust:
Screws (I’ll explain one day)
My brother-in-law
Anyone drunk
Me without meds.

Four people from history I’d like to meet:
I don’t want to meet any of these people really. If I could shake hands and even just say hello then so much of why I want to meet them would instantly disappear. The fascination would be replaced with the flesh and nothing can ever live up to fascination. So just being somewhere I could see them, hear them, watch them would be good enough. In fact that would add to the magic….
Peter Cook
Spike Milligan
Keith Alexander
Michael Palin (yesterday is now history so who says they all have to be dead ?)

Four movies I watch over and over:
Leon
Monsters Inc
Godfather
Aliens

Four people I’m tagging:
Dino
Phu
Ian
Claire

Thrown at me by Jennifer

Number of books on the shelf
I’ve seen 100 on a few blogs that have done this, so I’ll count. Hang on …. 156. There would be more but 2 shelves are given over to games / CD’s and the like. (2 shelves are double packed). There are boxes of books in the garage too.

Last book purchased
That would be a Michael Palin book I think …or Clarkson

Currently reading
Right now .. quite a few. My concentration level isn’t great right now so I’ll tell you the books with bookmarks in: A Can of Madness, The World According to Clarkson, Himalaya (Palin), Slow (Carl Honore), Atomised, Bullet Points, Shangai Baby, My Secret Garden, Bleak House, Grumpy Old Men, A Brilliant Madness. CSS books are open and closed frequently, and I’ve yet to finish Zeldman’s Web Standard book.

Last 5 books read
A Million Little Pieces, A Year in the Merde, Bringing Down the House, Ghost Girl. I can’t remember further back than that.

Books that mean a lot to me
A Million Little Pieces – read it and you’ll know why.
Why Men Lie & Women Cry – superb. Just essential reading.

Who I am throwing this at ?
Dino, Jayne, Gary, Etanisla and Samantha or Melissa

The CD’s went in the post today, and the track listing is below.

I think this list is really cheesy:

Atari – Thermal Resolution
Chris De Burgh – Patricia The Stripper
M – Pop Muzic
Gerry Rafferty – Baker Street
Flash & The Pan – Waiting For A Train
The Members – Sound Of The Suburbs
Jean Michel Jarre – Oxygene pt 4
Altered Images – I Could be Happy
Tampera feat maya – Feel It
Fine Young Cannibals – Good thing
The Foundations – Build Me Up Buttercup
Blue Man Group – Rods And Cones
Bond – Explosive (Orion and Ed Leal)
Eminem Vs Supermen Lovers – Without Me (Tristan Morph)
Infected Mushroom – Bust a Move
Kinobe – Slip Into Something More Comfortable
Ozzy Osbourne – Dreamer
Shapeshifters – Lola’s Theme
Vibri – Sunny Day
The Marcels – Blue Moon

The theme was Summer and barring a couple of tracks which I have since remembered, all these tracks would have some sort of Summer in any attached imagery but for very different reasons. If I put the tracks together right now it would be different and I can’t have been in really top form because certain “I’m on an UP!” tracks are missing, but then so are the down tracks too (mainly APB).
Anyway, yes it’s cheesy, it shows my age and the last track ? I just LOVE that track.

1. You’re stuck inside Fahrenheit 451, which book do you want to be?
Why Men Don’t Listen and Women Can’t Read Maps: How We’re Different and What to Do About It. This book has saved countless arguments in this house. I’ve bought this for a couple of people when learning that they had become engaged too. The stuff in this book is essential for ANYONE. Really it is. We took this on holiday a few years ago just after getting it, and I was sitting there by the pool laughing not at what was in the book so much as at the way it depicted situations that happened daily in our house. (“The butter’s in the fridge” is a standard phrase used against me frequently). It really clued me in as to what the language of “woman-speak” was – and likewise the ladies in this house now accept that certain behaviours / actions / interpretations of mine are simply because I’m a bloke. Seriously – buy this book.

2. Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character?
In a book …. no. Magazines ? Yes ;)

3. The last book you bought is:
Designing with Web Standards ~ Jeffrey Zeldman

4. The last book you read:
Ghost Girl ~ Torey L. Hayden. When she leaves Jeremiah and co. for the last time … I nearly cried. One of those rare books that I read in 3 ‘goes’ as putting it down was very difficult indeed and I just know that it will easily bear a re-read. I must say a thank you to Stacy for sending me this.

5. What are you currently reading?
Nothing right now as a full time read – I am completely out of books. I usually get a few at a time to read, and this is drought time. That said, I love books and I become a fount of WordPress assistance to those that buy me them hint hint. That said I am re-dipping into Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff…and It’s All Small Stuff ~ Richard Carlson. No real reason behind the ‘dipping’ but it is certainly a fantastic book and one I would recommend to anyone.

6. Five books you would take to a deserted island:
Wouldn’t sand ruin them ? Okay … tricky this one.
– The Greatest Benefit to Mankind: A Medical History of Humanity ~ Roy Porter
- Mrs.Beeton’s Book of Cookery and Household Management
- The Stand ~ Stephen King
- The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations
- And lastly, the Biggest Book of All :)

7. Who are you going to pass this stick to (3 persons) and why?
I’m not. Partly because I’m not sure who to send it to as there are a few people I know read here so it would be more than 3. Partly because those people may prefer to choose to do it rather than be asked, but mainly because why limit myself to 3 ? It’s a weekend – a long weekend – so there may be more people who choose to do this, and if they pinged here then we’d all have some bonus posts to read wouldn’t we ?
