A post to the .org forums has prompted me to do something I’ve been contacted several times about – importing blogger posts for people whose host does not have curl (or cURL or CURL or however it’s spelt). So there is a blog, they have full access to it, they import, they use the backup plugin to get the sql file and then I nuke the db afresh. Easy. Tell people :)

I looked what phentermine actually was given that it is prominent in the spam – it’s some sort of diet pill. What surprised me is that despite all the spam the millions of spams, 3rd place on a Google for phentermine is an LJ page which doesn’t even have the term on show. See? Blogging will overcome!

Took Winston to the vet Friday as he appeared really ill. £128 later we were assured he wasn’t too bad. Expensive or what?

Made a photo CD for J earlier (yesterday given it’s 04:29 as I type) so she could see everywhere me and Winston wander to. She’s seen a lot on this machine but the TV is better and the resolution wasn’t too bad. My philosophy of taking many where a pro would take a few has paid off too – some very good pics came out.

30 more minutes and I can go bed. Roll on 5am… crap – the birds have just started the dawn chorus outside.

Todo:
- watch the last 4 episodes of the first season of 24
- install 1.5.3 beta-1 here and see if it explodes
- try this touch-typing thing some more
- watch Lord of War
- dump a load of feeds and find some interesting ones
- upgrade a number of blogs
- watch the F1 and wait for DC to rate his chances as good (annual useless event)
- tell people that ‘Ajax’ was actually the name of the flushing toilet
- try to get into the Giant’s Castle in KoL again. (I’m stuck in a loop I think)
and now it’s time for the dog and me to tramp through the local countryside…

It now covers xampplite (which comes in at only 96MB), mentions a possible port clash and cure and also how to remove the feeds (I just copied over the wp-admin/index.php which I’ve been using for months). If you wanted to know, Gallery2 also installs without a hitch using a full xampp and that weighs in at 226MB.

In other news:
- Pepsi Max Coffee Cino is great. I want loads more :)
- my wrist really stings when touched (D is 15. She’s 16 in a few months…. you know when someone – usually a child – comes up to you and says “When I do X, it hurts” and your natural response is “Well don’t do X then!” ? D still does that. I don’t know why but when she does say that I find it very amusing.)
- Crap Cleaner. I mentioned the no update thing ? Head over to the home page, click on Downloads, then on ‘Other builds’. The ‘slim’ download has attacked the cache and the registry here and I then rebooted with no problem. It’s also a third of the main download size.
- I bought XPlay for D and her iPod Shuffle. No joy. Crash city. It’ll be something weird with her machine no doubt. But MediaFour have said I can have my money back. Once I’ve printed the PDF out and sent it to them promising the ‘electronic destruction’ of the code and the serial. ‘Electronic destruction’ – I’ll delete it very firmly. Twice. :) Still, nice of them to do that.
