About
…me

I’ve used WordPress since January 2004 and as a consequence of hanging around the forums and insisting on answering questions I now work for Automattic providing support for their products, primarily support for http://wordpress.com. In addition to that I jointly run FreshlyPressed which provides WordPress hosting coupled with first class support (I would say that though ). And on top of all that I have a number of other side projects which come under the subnoto banner. I spend a lot of time online. I am subnoto on AIM / MSN and tamba2 on GTalk.
In the few free moments I have I’m walking the dog and trying to keep up a gym habit.
I have opinions on a few things. I think I come across as angry sometimes.
I’m a fairly stable person with a bipolar disorder too.
…people I talk about
J is my wife. We have known been together since 1983 and married since 1986. J has Multiple Sclerosis.
D and P are our daughters, aged 16 and 13 respectively.
…the site
Purpose: I have no idea other than it gives me something to do.
What I write on his site is my personal opinion. Nothing here should be taken as being the view of anyone or any company that I do work for.
…my coding abilities
What abilities ? I know enough x/html and css to get by. I know no programming languages. I never even got the hang of BASIC, though strangely enough I could POKE games and write assembler. I wrote a guide to using a program (The Insider) which enabled you to get infinite lives / energy / ammo etc in games when the Amstrad CPC was cutting edge. That’ll be when games were games.
…blogging
I blog about whatever crosses my mind.
I have no set agenda. I am not attempting to be geeky, or political, or controversial. I write what I want, about what I want, whenever the mood takes me. I’ll have a go at anyone / anything if I need.
I do not draft, re-read and polish my posts. There is an immediacy about my writing which may at times evoke strong feelings – I make no apologies for this.
…commenting
Commenting is – like any blog – very welcome, and you are free to disagree with me, but I absolutely retain the right to rebuke any criticism, and in the case of particularly vile comments, delete them.
…you know
Nothing.
You could read every word I have written here and you would have learned less about me than if we met for coffee. (Of course some of you I have met for coffee – or more ! – or have otherwise corresponded with for a long period of time, so you will be free to say anything :) ). Do not presume to know me, my thoughts, sense of humour, prejudices, my politics – in fact almost anything. The medium of text, especially in the form of blogging is a poor one for building some sort of personal profile. And remember – you don’t know if I’m writing what I actually feel or if I’m playing Devil’s Advocate do you ?
