I’m sitting here writing an email to my wife. The screen darkens from top to bottom like a blind being pulled down. It gets to the bottom and I get a warning that I need to power down to restart. It’s not like I really have a choice. So I do. On restart the computer tells me that os x quit unexpectedly and would I like to see the report or send it to apple. I click to see. The dialog disappears. I see no report.
Nice.
But it won’t be a crash because everyone knows macs do not crash.
Must be my fault.

Meh, it’s still a computer they aren’t infallible, stuff happens, I prefer Macs but I know they can go tits up.
Also when did you get a MacBook/MacBook Pro thought you only had a Mini?

I had a run of these, and started to get the feel that Mac’s not crashing was a bit of over-hyped rubbish, and then I noticed that it was ONLY when I had Coconut Battery running and the Mac was waking from sleep. I stopped using Coconut Battery and have had “only” one “can’t-be-a-crash” since (since about three weeks ago). Any of these aren’t good, but I was glad to eliminate one cause.

Neasen – this is an MBP and I still have the mini. Movability became an issue.
David – I wondered if it could be this as I updated Adium last but I can’t reproduce it. I ran Cocktail’s automatic tools and I’m hoping that will have cured something.
Very odd though.
