I could have sworn there was a preference for this, but it seems I was imagining it. I'd also love to stop the automating opening of previously used files.

I agree that they should have a forum. I also find it strange that they don't have a company blog. I subscribe to the individual blogs of Cabel and stevenf, but it's not the same. However, whether a forum would actually save them money remains to be seen. When you have a forum, you get a community and you get transparency. You need to spend time nurturing the community and looking after your image. I think it would be worthwhile for them to build that community, but maybe they're not ready for the leap.

Steve: Thanks for Coda Lova - looks good.

The lack of the forum is what I mean by getting better support.
Someone there has decided not to have a forum. So that someone needs to get more people to answer more emails. If they choose not to get themselves a ton of free support then they need to pay for more people to do the job.
Forums = Good Things.
If they can make these apps and do support, they can make more in the same time when they have user <> user forum support.

They do feel one-sided, yes. I can't see an argument for not having a forum (well I can, but that's to prevent a central place for sniping at them which would not happen) and I can see only benefits to installing one. As long as it's not phpbb :)

I wish there was a forum, too. Companies without them feel very one-sided these days. I run the site Coda Lova, which I threw up pretty quickly to help centralize information on Coda, which is rather unorganized right now.

Coda is a HUGE product for Panic, I suspect they were overwhelmed by the reaction. Maybe now that WWDC is over (I know that took time away from them) things will get better.

I'm always nice :)

There may not be a pref at that level but I can't find anywhere that states that or even mentions it. I can see why some will find it useful, but I never have. On other editors I have used I find it an irritant so always turn that off. I'm surprised that this level of control is not there.

And May 25 - June 19 is a while. Had they got forums I would probably have found the solution in minutes. As their products are so well thought of I am surprised they do not relieve the pressure of support by opening some. One per product. They just cannot lose.

Ok, we're talking about two different things. That pref determines what happens when you launch Coda or open a new window; unchecked, you will not be returned to the last site/pages opened.

Your issue, I just realized, is when you open a given site. You want to reopen a site and NOT see the files you last worked on. Obviously there's no granular pref for that, though I happen to like the current behavior.

FWIW, I email Panic bugs/suggestions, and have always gotten a response in roughly 2 weeks. They're busy, try again.

And be nice.

I should have added that image when I made the post.
That box is unchecked. It's the first thing I unchecked.

Above, I opened Coda and clicked on this domain. Several files were opened as you can see.

You're kidding, right?
Prefs. General. Uncheck that box marked "Go the last-opened folder when connecting"
