As for where - somewhere within zone 1 is a must really.
Fancyapint is a good site for finding places to meet. One of my favorites is The George Inn, Borough which has loads of outside meeting space and good drinks :-)

Khaled / Westi: I have no local knowledge but somewhere easy to get to by Tube would be neat. As for drinks, I only drink Coke but somewhere for Matt to get some real beer would be good ;)

Mark - I’m up for it. I work in west london, but live east of london, so anywhere works for me.
That said… north of the river is easiest. I know lots of great places in central london if you need suggestions.

Bearing in mind that most geek dinner meetups have been at the Texas Embassy it might be nice to have a change for once :) . Another vote for somewhere in Zone 1, or at least somewhere near a tube station that isn’t too difficult to get to from King’s Cross.

Given the closeness to Christmas, the costs involved and the additional travel costs that will be incurred, can I make a suggestion ?
If we want this to be well attended yet also memorable for all concerned, how about - when we have Matt’s timetable of course - we arrange a meetup for drinks only with maybe a meal of some sort later ? That way people can budget their way along and choose when to attend if not for the whole thing.
Thoughts ?

Drinks only makes sense to me. Especially if its on a week night. Getting to a venue in zone 1 will take me at least 2 hours from home - judging on previous trips in to meet people for a drink I wouldn’t make anywhere till 8-8:30 on a weeknight.

Anthony - Apart from Matt mentioning this at #meetup, we know little. I believe he is over in Europe for Les Blogs 2.0 (as mentioned here http://www.loiclemeur.com/english/2005/08/book_your_decem.html) which is 5-6 December. Other than that, we have no idea. But drumming up a bit of interest is useful :)

How about anywhere in Brick Lane?
It’s a short walk from Liverpool Street, lots of places to eat. Great for a curry, not expensive (well.. as expensive as you want it to be).
