I contest that The Office, though amusing, cannot hold a torch to either Flowery Twats or Del and Rodders. And quite why Blackadder is below The Simpsons and that marathon of collective gag writing otherwise known as Friends is equally bewildering.(Source: BBC)

I never watched it.
I do recall that a guy I worked with said on the day that Dermot Morgan died “We should have a national mourning that would put Diana’s funeral to shame” :)

You dont need to be Irish to get it, it was great. I just got all 3 series on DVD.
My list would be:
1. Bottom
2. Fawlty Towers
3. Little Britain
4. Father Ted
5. Alan Partridge
6. The Young Ones
7. Blackadder (preferred Goes Forth to the others, but they were all good. Except the last one that was only shown on Sky One, that was a bit shit.)
8. Brasseye
9. Fools and Horses (although Ive seen them all so many times its getting a bit boring now)
10. The Mighty Boosh

No Dad’s Army, Some Mothers Do Ave Em, The Goodies or Not the Nine O’clock News! I’ll bet my car, that the Office and Little Britain are only there as people’s memories are too bad to remember anything older.

I’d have to agree about Father Ted, it’d be in my top three. Even the repeats still make me cry with laughing.

Father Ted should definately be in there, it’s hilarious.
I’d also agree with Ab Fab, Dad’s Army and Some Mothers Do Ave Em. Blackadder II would be top of my list I think. The first series was rubbish, the third was pretty good and the fourth went back to being almost as bad as the first. But Blackadder II was genius.

I think I’d put blackadder at the top by far. Also I agree that Father Ted would be up there, as well as another series on Channel 4 called Spaced. But then I thought Futurama was funnier than The Simpsons…….

I agree with you Mark though I would say that I never found “The Office” amusing in any way, shape or form. I too would only list those you’ve picked though maybe in a different order. I find most TV comedy a complete waste of time at the moment. I think the funniest comedies are on the radio.
